TEA TIME WITH MEENAH #1

Hello beautiful people! Welcome to the first episode of tea time with Meenah. Here is the big topic;
“Are social Networking sites good for our society?”
But first, tea!

I have always believed that a social networking site is what you make out of it. Incase you’re wondering what I mean, I will explain. It’s like having an empty sack. You can either fill it with fruits and wegetables-you can eat them or sell them or you can fill it with sands and pebbles–which will do you no good. Or you can leave it empty. It’s a platform, a portal where you can achieve so much good or you can cause so much harm to yourself.
People use social networking sites to connect with friends and family. Sometimes you can come across your long lost college or friend on a facebook suggestion box. They might even be living in a different country but you get to communicate with them through social media.
Social networks are one of the best ways to promote businesses. I have come across so many entrepreneurs who advertise their products on instagram through which they are able to reach multitude of people from different places. This isn't a plus just for the entrepreneurs but also for the customers. Sometimes you go round the entire market but you won’t be able to find what you are looking for but once you log into instagram, there it is lying peacefully on your timeline.
Social media has resulted in many marriages. Hold that thought! I know this is a very delicate issue. There are so many different people with different intentions online. It is that one should be very careful as to how he interacts with strangers. Safety comes first! There are so many horror stories that spun from innocent unsuspecting people who become victims of counless unspeakable crimes.
There are many charity organizations that have been able to reach out to many people on social media. Social media is instrumental to the good work that they do. The people who have benefitted from such will testify to it. Organizations like SCAF use different social media to create awareness on sickle cell. I believe this method will reach out to more people within a short period of time.

Social media is so entertaining. I can not over stress this fact. I have come across so many funny memes, tweets, pictures, jokes and videos. It gets so fun sometimes that I literally struggle to go offline. The negative effect of this is time wasting. It is so distracting. One has to be so disciplined in terms of time management.
I can go on and on but I don't want all you read to be my opinion only. So please join the conversation by telling me what you think in the comment box. Have a blessed day!
